STEAMplay Studios Participation Waiver & Release of Liability

This Waiver and Release of Liability ("Waiver") applies to children’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) programs and services provided by STEAMplay Studios (ABN 74 785 098 781).
By agreeing to this Waiver, you do so on behalf of yourself and your child(ren) participating in any STEAMplay Studios classes, workshops, play sessions, or events.

1. Activities and Inherent Risks

STEAMplay Studios programs may include, but are not limited to:

  • Messy play/Sensory play

  • Beginner-level science and chemistry experiments

  • Art and craft

  • Robotics and coding

  • Programming and electronics

These activities may involve commercial or household-grade materials such as paints, glues, clay, electronics, wires, motors, and tools. Where age-appropriate, children may be given access to basic hand tools, low-temperature hot glue guns, and other materials to facilitate their creations.

Please notify us in writing prior to participation if you do not consent to your child using tools or technology. We will make reasonable accommodations where possible.

2. Acknowledgement of Risk & Responsibility

I acknowledge and understand that:

  • Participation in STEAM activities involves certain inherent risks, including but not limited to minor injuries (e.g., cuts, burns, allergic reactions).

  • STEAMplay Studios takes all reasonable safety precautions, but it is my responsibility to ensure my child is physically and emotionally capable of participating in all activities.

  • My child must follow the instructions and safety rules provided by STEAMplay Studios staff.

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my child’s participation.

3. Medical Release

In the event of illness or injury, I understand every effort will be made to contact me or the emergency contact provided at time of booking. If I cannot be reached, I authorize STEAMplay Studios staff to:

  • Call emergency services (000)

  • Seek appropriate medical care

  • Permit my child to receive any necessary treatment

I accept full financial responsibility for any medical expenses incurred and release STEAMplay Studios from liability in such circumstances.

4. Waiver, Release & Indemnity

By signing or checking the acknowledgment box, I hereby:

  • Waive, release, and discharge STEAMplay Studios, its owners, employees, contractors, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, or demands arising from my child’s participation.

  • Indemnify and hold harmless STEAMplay Studios against any and all claims, including injury, loss, damage, or expenses incurred while participating in any activities—whether on site, in public venues, or at hired facilities.

  • Acknowledge this Waiver is ongoing and applies to all future sessions unless revoked in writing.

5. Photography & Social Media

Photographs and short videos may be taken during sessions for use in marketing, social media, and promotional materials.

We respect children’s privacy and do not tag or name children. However, identifying details may be captured in background footage.

To opt out, please notify us in writing at admin@steamplaystudios.com.au before your child attends any sessions.

I confirm that:

  • I am not under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or any illicit substances while signing this agreement.

  • My child will attend with appropriate supervision where required and follow the code of conduct set by STEAMplay Studios staff.

7. Legal Acknowledgment

By purchasing a trial, term class plan or ticking the acknowledgment box, I confirm:

  • I am 18 years of age or older and legally authorized to sign on behalf of the participant(s).

  • I have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to the terms outlined in this Waiver.

  • This document is contractual and may be relied upon in any legal proceedings by me, my heirs, executors, or assigns.
